Ich habe Mathematik (Diplom) und Mathematik/Physik (Lehramt) an der Universität Wien am Mathematischen Institut studiert! Ich habe mein Studium, Mathematik (Diplom), am 07.12.01. mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossen. Wollt Ihr meine Diplomarbeit "Polynome über Gruppen" oder nur das Vorwort lesen ? Meine Diplomarbeit hat den Titel Polynome über Gruppen und beschäftigt sich zuerst mit dem Konzept der Polynom und Polynomfunktionen, verallgemeinert auf universale Algebren. Danach werden diese Konzepte auf die Klasse der Gruppen angewandt und untersucht.

Am 22. Juni 2005 habe ich mein Doktoratsstudium mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossen. Titel der Dissertation: "Regular and irregular Gabor multiplier with application to psychoacoustic masking" (Link). Sie wurde bei NuHAG geschrieben. 

Die Wissensgebiete in der Mathematik, die mich während des Studiums sehr interessiert haben, waren Algebra, Harmonische Analyse und Topologie und Verbindungen davon (wie z.B. topologische Algebra oder Fourier Analysis über Gruppen). Durch meinen Posten und meine Beschäftigung mit Computern ist mein Interesse an der angewandten und numerischen Mathematik sowie an Signalverarbeitung stark angestiegen. Mit meiner Dissertation habe ich auch Interese an der Funktionalanalysis und Operatoren-Theorie entwickelt.

Am Institut für Schallforschung (ARI) der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften habe ich als Programmierer begonnen und arbeite nun als Mathematiker dort. Dadurch bin ich nun vermehrt in den Kontakt mit Algorithmen, Signalverarbeitung und Akustik gekommen. Dort konnte ich nun auch drei meiner Hauptinteressen vereinen: Akustik (ich bin Musiker und habe so manches Konzert als Tontechniker betreut), Mathematik und Informatik. Um genaueres über den Tätigkeitsbereich der Schallforschung zu erfahren, schaut auf diese Homepage.

Von November 2003 - April 2004 habe ich an meiner Dissertation bei der  Groupe de Traitement du Signal , Laboratoire d'Analyse Topologie et Probabilités, LATP/ CMI, Université de Provence, Marseille und der Gruppe Modélisation, Synthèse et Contrôle des Signaux Sonores et Musicaux des LMA / CRNS Marseille gearbeitet. Das wurde einerseits vom HASSIP network finanziert, andererseits durch ARI unterstützt.

 Im August 2005 habe ich Jean-Pierre Antoine im Unité de physique théorique et de physique mathématique – FYMA besucht, um unter anderem an der Verbindung der Theorie der frame multiplier und weighted frames zu arbeiten.

März, Mai und Juni 2006 verbrachte ich erneut in Marseille. Mit der Kooperation NuHAG und der Groupe de Traitement du Signal wurde das Thema Gabor Software bearbeitet. Mit dem  MSCSSM und dem Institut ARI beschäftigten wir uns mit Zeit-Frequenz Repräsentationen und Wahrnehmung. Zu diesem Thema wurde mir auch eine Austauschprojekt für diese Institute im Rahmen des WTZ genehmigt.

Ich konnte mich erfolgreich um ein WWTF-Projekt mit dem Titel 'Frame Multiplier: Theory and Application in Acoustics' bewerben. Dieses internationale, multi-disziplinäre und team-orierntierte Projekt hat es mir auch erlaubt eine kleine Gruppe 'Mathematik und Signalverarbeitung’ am Institut für Schallforschung zu gründen und zu führen. Dieses Projekt hat im März 2008 begonnen und wird bis September 2011 dauern. 2011 habe ich auch den Anerkennungspreis des Landes Niederösterreich für Wissenschaft bekommen. (Siehe hier.) 

2011 bekam ich den START-Preis, dem prestige-trächtigsten Preis für junge Wissenschafter in Österreich (siehe unten).

2012 wurde ich zum Direktor des Instituts für Schallforschung ernannt.


START-Preis  FLAME

Im Jahr 2011 habe ich einen START-Preis für das Projekt 'Frames and Linear Operators for Acoustical Modeling and Parameter Estimation (FLAME)' bekommen.Dieses Projekt hat 2012 begonnen und läuft dankd er erfolgreichen Zwischen-Evaluierung (32015) bis 2018.
